Welcome to Sacred Hearts

Sacred Hearts is a 12-step–based recovery home in Chattanooga, Tennessee, accredited by TN-ARR and dedicated to helping women rebuild their lives through structure, accountability, and compassion. We provide a safe, family-style home where women are supported as they take responsibility for their recovery and rediscover who they are beyond addiction.

Our program is rooted in action — daily structure, peer support, and personal accountability form the foundation of everything we do. Residents are encouraged to grow spiritually, emotionally, and practically, learning how to show up for themselves and others with honesty and consistency. Through meetings, sponsorship, and community involvement, women build the tools to sustain long-term recovery and reclaim their independence.

At Sacred Hearts, healing is both personal and shared. We believe recovery is not just about staying sober — it’s about rebuilding character, restoring trust, and creating a life built on purpose.

Through Sacred Hearts Unchained, we foster as a reminder that healing takes connection — both people and animals need love, trust, and a second chance to become who they’re meant to be.

Our Mission

Our mission at Sacred Hearts is to empower women to break free from the grip of addiction and self-harm, fostering a community where vulnerability is met with compassion and understanding. We believe that every woman deserves a safe space to heal, free from judgment, and to discover the strength within to embrace a life of healing and growth.

Our Home

Offering a comfortable and nurturing environment, our home in Chattanooga provides support for up to eight women in recovery. Our dedicated house managers are on hand to assist residents. We believe structure is key, and encourage participation in regular daily tasks, adherence to guidelines, meeting attendance, drug screening, and employment as vital steps towards lasting success. Located in a quiet, safe neighborhood, our clean, four-bedroom home is conveniently situated just a short walk from the bus and a quick drive to most of the city.

Our Community

A cornerstone of life at Sacred Hearts is the strong peer support fostered through regular house and community meetings. Supportive individuals from Chattanooga and experienced peers in recovery lead interactive workshops on topics including 12 step literature studies, Narcan training, relapse prevention, and more. These meetings are key to building unity and providing essential life and recovery skills for our residents.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a recovery house?

A recovery house, such as Sacred Hearts, serves as a crucial middle ground for individuals transitioning through their recovery journey. 1 We provide a supportive and structured environment for those who have completed a more intensive medical rehabilitation program but are not yet fully prepared for independent living. Our focus is on fostering the development of essential life skills and reinforcing the principles of recovery in a communal setting.

What are the fees for Sacred Hearts?

The financial commitment for residency at Sacred Hearts includes a non-refundable deposit of $150 and weekly rent fees of $185. The program emphasizes the development of self-sufficiency as a fundamental aspect of successful recovery.

Am I allowed to have vehicle at Sacred Hearts?

Vehicles are allowed, provided they are legally registered, insured (with the resident on the policy), and the resident has a valid driver's license.

Are Cell Phones Required?

Yes. All residents are required to have a working cell phone within seven days of moving in. Sacred Hearts uses Behave Health, our accountability and communication app, for daily check-ins, meeting attendance, and program compliance. Having a phone ensures residents stay connected, responsible, and fully engaged in their recovery program.

How long is the program?

Sacred Hearts operates on a tier-based program focused on accountability and personal growth. On average, residents remain in the program six to nine months as they work through each tier’s guidelines and expectations. This gradual structure supports steady progress, independence, and lasting recovery.

Can I Bring my Cat or Dog?

Unfortunately, we’re not able to allow personal pets in the house. Sacred Hearts has a house dog who is a foster through Sacred Hearts Unchained in partnership with the Humane Education Society, and our focus is on caring for one animal at a time as part of our recovery and rescue mission. While we love animals, we aren’t able to accommodate additional pets at this time.

Do we allow children?

While Sacred Hearts isn’t a women’s and children’s facility, we understand how important family connection is in recovery. Children under the age of 12 are welcome to visit during approved visiting hours before curfew. We simply ask that all children remain under their parent’s supervision at all times while on the property.
